170V standoff — where it sits in the rail budget
The 170V reverse standoff voltage is the DC bias the part ignores during normal operation. You place this across a 170V bus — 48V telecom rectifiers, 120V AC/DC rails, or 170V solar string inputs — and it stays invisible until a transient exceeds the 189V minimum breakdown voltage. That 189V to 353V window is the clamping zone; the load sees the clamp until the surge energy dissipates.
DO-214AB (SMC) package — board integration
Surface-mount in the DO-214AB (SMC) package. The SMC footprint is a standard JEDEC outline — 8.0 mm body length, 6.85 mm width, with gull-wing leads for solder-joint inspection. The 1500W rating assumes a copper-land pattern per the datasheet's recommended pad layout — skimping on pad area derates the surge capability. MSL 1 out of the bag, no bake required before reflow as long as the moisture barrier bag is intact.
