When it does fire, the clamping voltage holds at 69.7V maximum at the rated peak pulse current of 33A (8/20µs waveform). That 69.7V ceiling is the number the downstream silicon has to survive — if your 48V-rated MOSFET or controller has a 60V absolute maximum, this part gives you about 9V of headroom after derating.
