TRANSIL TVS — what this 188 V standoff part does
It provides a single channel of protection in a surface-mount package, rated for 400 W peak pulse power.
Voltage thresholds and clamping behaviour
The reverse standoff voltage (working voltage) is 188 V — the rail or signal line should never exceed this in normal operation. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 209 V, and the clamping voltage is held to 388 V maximum at the rated peak pulse current of 6 A (8/20 µs waveform).
Housed in a surface-mount package, the SMAJ188A-TR is suited for automated assembly.
