600W peak pulse power in an SMB package
The STMicroelectronics SM6T33AY is a 600W automotive-grade TVS diode in a surface-mount DO-214AA (SMB) package. The single unidirectional channel handles 68A (8/20µs waveform) and is AEC-Q101 qualified, making it a fit for automotive ECU, ADAS sensor, and body-control module power inputs.
For a production BOM targeting under-hood or cabin electronics, that qualification removes the need for additional component-level qualification runs.
For a design going into production, this means no forced redesign window from obsolescence. The base product number SM6T33 covers a family of voltage variants in the same SMB footprint, so if a different clamp voltage is needed later, the PCB layout stays the same.
It's hand-solderable with a fine-tip iron or hot air — use the SMB land pattern from the datasheet.
