600W bidirectional TVS for 24V rail protection
The 25.6V reverse standoff voltage means it sits across a 24V nominal rail without conducting during normal operation, only turning on when a transient pushes the line past the 28.5V minimum breakdown threshold.
When the SM6T30CA fires, it clamps the transient to a maximum of 53.5V at the rated 75A peak pulse current (8/20µs waveform). That 53.5V ceiling is what the downstream circuitry sees — if your 24V-rated DC-DC converter or sensor input has a 60V absolute maximum, this part gives you about 6.5V of headroom. The 75A figure tells you the diode can absorb a substantial surge without failing short, which is the failure mode you want: a shorted TVS blows the upstream fuse rather than leaving the rail unprotected.
Housed in a standard SMB (DO-214AA) surface-mount package, the SM6T30CA fits a common footprint shared across many TVS and Schottky diodes, making it a straightforward drop-in for existing layouts.
