Product details

Automotive-grade TVS protection in a DO-214AA SMB package

It clamps transients on a 23.1V nominal rail with a minimum breakdown voltage of 25.7V and a maximum clamping voltage of 48.3V at its peak pulse current. The single unidirectional channel in the DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package fits standard pick-and-place and reflow assembly.

The 25.7V minimum breakdown voltage sets the threshold where the diode starts conducting in avalanche. With a 23.1V reverse standoff voltage, this device protects a 24V nominal supply bus or a 23V regulated rail without conducting leakage current under normal operation. The 48.3V maximum clamp at the 83A peak pulse current (8/20 µs waveform) limits the voltage spike seen by downstream components during an ESD or load-dump event. That clamp voltage is the number your circuit designer uses to verify the input rating of the downstream DC-DC converter or linear regulator.

AEC-Q101 qualification — what it buys you

For a procurement decision, it removes the need for your quality team to qualify a non-automotive TVS for an automotive BOM line.
