It carries AEC-Q101 qualification, so it is screened for the stress profiles of under-hood and chassis-domain electronics — thermal cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and surge endurance.
Clamping window and surge current
Reverse standoff voltage is 10.2 V, so the diode stays out of conduction below that level — no leakage penalty on a nominal 12 V bus. Breakdown starts at a minimum of 11.4 V, and clamping is held to a maximum of 21.7 V at the rated peak pulse current of 184 A under the 8/20 µs waveform. That 184 A figure is the one to check against ISO 7637-2 pulse 5a/5b requirements for load-dump protection; the 8/20 µs shape is the standard for automotive transient generators. Operating junction temperature spans -55 to 150 °C, covering both cold-crank at -40 °C and under-hood heat soak above 125 °C.
