600 W transient suppressor for 10.2 V rails
The STMicroelectronics SM6T12A is a 600 W unidirectional transient voltage suppression diode from the TRANSIL™ series, designed to clamp voltage spikes on a 10.2 V nominal rail. Its 21.7 V clamping maximum at the peak pulse current of 184 A (8/20 µs waveform) gives the downstream circuitry a defined voltage ceiling during a surge event. The 11.4 V minimum breakdown voltage ensures the diode starts conducting before the protected line exceeds safe levels.
The 21.7 V clamping voltage at 184 A tells you the worst-case voltage the load sees during a pulse; a downstream regulator or IC must survive that peak.
It is RoHS compliant and available for order.
