The SM15T12A is supplied in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, a standard surface-mount outline for medium-power TVS diodes. The SMC body measures approximately 7.1 mm x 6.2 mm with a 2.6 mm height, and the gull-wing leads provide a solder joint that can be inspected visually. The part is rated for a continuous operating junction temperature of 150°C, so the PCB layout should include adequate copper area on the cathode tab to dissipate heat from repetitive surge events.
