AEC-Q100 EEPROM for the automotive BOM
It organizes memory as 1K x 8 bits and supports a 20 MHz clock rate for fast read/write access over the SPI bus.
20 MHz SPI and 4 ms page write
The 20 MHz SPI clock gives a raw throughput of 20 Mbit/s for reads, which is enough to stream calibration tables or boot parameters without stalling the host controller. Write-cycle time per page is 4 ms (typical) — a full 1K x 8 array rewrite takes about 32 ms if you write page by page. For firmware updates stored in external EEPROM, that latency is acceptable for a 20 ms CAN message cycle.
8-TSSOP footprint and rework
Housed in an 8-TSSOP (4.40 mm wide), this part is surface-mount and rework-friendly. The 0.65 mm pitch is easy to hand-solder with a fine tip or hot air at 300°C — no underfill needed. Orientation mark is clear on the package top, so pin 1 identification is straightforward under a loupe.
