32 Kbit I²C EEPROM — configuration and calibration storage
The STMicroelectronics M24C32-DFDW6TP is a 32 Kbit serial EEPROM with an I²C interface, organized as 4K x 8 bits. It is designed for non-volatile storage of configuration parameters, calibration constants, device IDs, and firmware lookup tables in embedded systems. Clock frequency reaches 1 MHz, and the byte/page write cycle time is 5 ms.
On a mixed-voltage board with a 3.3 V MCU and 5 V sensors, this single part works on either rail. The 1 MHz I²C bus speed supports fast parameter reads during boot without stalling the processor. The 450 ns access time is the random-read cycle time; sequential reads run at the bus clock rate.
For production builds, this means no forced last-time buy or redesign window in the foreseeable future. The part is ROHS3 compliant.
8-TSSOP footprint — layout and assembly notes
The surface-mount package reflows with standard lead-free profiles. No exposed pad — thermal management is straightforward for the low-power EEPROM. The Tape & Reel delivery suits automated pick-and-place.
