The STMicroelectronics M24C16-WMN6TP is a 16 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 2K x 8 bits, accessed over an I²C bus at up to 400 kHz. It is a non-volatile memory device for storing configuration parameters, calibration data, or small firmware tables in embedded systems. The 900 ns access time is typical for this density and bus speed, and the wide supply range of 2.5V to 5.5V lets it work across 3.3V and 5V logic domains without a level shifter.

It is not yet discontinued, so existing production lines can still source it, but STMicroelectronics has flagged it for phase-out. For a new BOM or a long-running product, qualifying a pin-compatible replacement — such as the M24C16-WMN6T or a sibling in the same family — is the prudent move to avoid a future last-time-buy scramble. The 8-SOIC footprint is widely used, so alternate vendors (Microchip, Onsemi) offer drop-in equivalents with the same 2K x 8 I²C interface.
