The STMicroelectronics M24C16-RMN6P is a 16 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 2K x 8 bits, accessed through an I2C interface running at up to 400 kHz. It is a non-volatile memory for storing configuration parameters, calibration constants, device IDs, or small firmware lookup tables in embedded systems. The 900 ns access time is the random-read cycle time from the I2C bus — not a concern for most parameter-storage tasks, but worth noting if you are polling status registers in a tight loop.
Supply voltage and bus compatibility
The 1.8V to 5.5V supply range covers the three common logic rails: 1.8V, 3.3V, and 5V. At 5V the I2C bus signals are 5V-tolerant on the SDA and SCL pins, so the part integrates directly into a legacy 5V design. At 1.8V it works with the lowest-voltage MCUs without extra regulation.
It is suitable for outdoor telecom enclosures, factory-floor sensors, motor drives, and automotive cabin applications (non-AEC-Q100, so not for under-hood or safety-critical paths without additional qualification).
