8 Kbit I2C EEPROM — the tiny one for tight boards
The STMicroelectronics M24C08-FCT6TP/T is an 8 Kbit serial EEPROM with an I2C interface, organized as 1K x 8 bits. The 900 ns access time is typical for I2C EEPROMs at this density — fine for storing calibration constants, device IDs, or boot parameters.
Why the WLCSP package matters on your board
This part comes in a 4-bump WLCSP measuring 0.70 x 0.71 mm — smaller than a grain of rice. That saves board area but means the PCB land pattern and stencil aperture need careful design. The bumps are on the bottom with no leads, so visual inspection of the solder joint is tough; X-ray or electrical test is your friend. Use a 0.125 mm stencil and keep the aperture at 1:1 pad size.
Supply voltage flexibility — one part for mixed-voltage rails
No external level shifter needed on the I2C bus as long as the pull-up resistors are sized for the lower voltage. The 5 ms write cycle time (word or page) is standard for this process node — budget that when writing more than a few bytes.
