Automotive EEPROM for calibration and data logging
The M24C08-DRMN3TP/K is an 8Kbit I²C serial EEPROM from STMicroelectronics, qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 for automotive applications. Memory is organized as 1K x 8 bits — enough for 1024 bytes of calibration tables, VIN, fault codes, or production trace data. The I²C interface runs at 1 MHz (Fast-mode Plus), so a 1Kbyte read completes in under 10 ms at that clock rate.
Package and supply integration
The 1.7V minimum supply means it works with 1.8V logic families as well as 3.3V and 5V systems — no extra voltage translation on the SDA/SCL lines when the MCU runs at 1.8V. Write cycle time is 4 ms for a page write (up to 16 bytes). The 450 ns access time is the read cycle time on the I²C bus — the actual throughput depends on the master clock stretch and acknowledge timing, but the device itself does not limit a 1 MHz bus.
The base product number M24C08 covers multiple temperature grades and package variants — the DRMN3TP/K suffix specifies the automotive AEC-Q100 grade, 8-SOIC package, and tape-and-reel packaging.
