4 Kbit I²C EEPROM in a 1.7x1.4 mm package
The STMicroelectronics M24C04-FMH6TG is a 4 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 512 x 8 bits, accessed over an I²C bus at up to 400 kHz. The 900 ns access time and 5 ms write cycle per page are typical for this density class. The 5-UFDFN package measures just 1.7x1.4 mm, making it a fit for space-constrained PCBs in industrial control, telecom modules, and portable instrumentation.
Supply voltage range — 1.7V to 5.5V
The wide supply range is the headline feature for BOM fit. It lets a single EEPROM part serve across a 3.3V radio module, a 5V legacy PLC controller, and a 1.8V FPGA configuration store. No external regulator or level translation on the Vcc pin. The I²C interface is also 1.7V to 5.5V tolerant on SDA and SCL, so the bus voltage can differ from Vcc within that window.
Not AEC-Q100 qualified, so it is not the pick for under-hood automotive or 125°C engine-bay environments.
Package and footprint — 5-UFDFN (1.7x1.4 mm)
This is a hand-solderable package with a bit of care — a hot-air station or small-tip iron works. The exposed pad is not electrically connected but provides thermal relief; a via under the pad helps if the board sees high ambient temperature.
