4 Kbit I²C EEPROM with full automotive temperature range
The STMicroelectronics M24C04-DRMN3TP/K is a 4 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 512 x 8 bits, accessed over an I²C bus at clock frequencies up to 1 MHz. The part is AEC-Q100 qualified and carries ROHS3 compliance.
For a BOM that spans multiple ECU variants — some running a 3.3 V MCU, others a 5 V legacy bus — the same M24C04-DRMN3TP/K can be qualified once and placed across the platform.
450 ns access time and 4 ms write cycle
The 450 ns access time is the I²C bus cycle time at 1 MHz; the 4 ms write cycle (word or page) is the window during which the part is busy and will not acknowledge new I²C commands. For a 4 Kbit EEPROM, a full-chip write (eight pages) takes 32 ms worst-case. The firmware write routine should poll for the acknowledge after each page write rather than inserting a fixed delay, to avoid wasting bus time.
The AEC-Q100 qualification and 125°C operating temperature define its fit: this is the tier for powertrain, engine management, transmission, and ADAS sensor modules.
The '3' in the order code suffix indicates the Tape & Reel packing option; the part is also available in Cut Tape for prototype or low-volume builds.
