The STMicroelectronics LM2901HYDT is a quad general-purpose comparator built for automotive environments. It carries AEC-Q100 qualification, so it is released for PPAP submissions and fits under-hood and cabin-domain ECU designs without a qualification waiver. Four independent comparators in a single 14-SOIC package, each with an open-collector output that interfaces directly to CMOS, TTL, ECL, DTL, or MOS logic.
Supply range and quiescent current — the BOM-fit numbers
Supply voltage spans 2 V to 36 V single-supply, or ±1 V to ±18 V split-supply. Quiescent current is 2.5 mA max across all four comparators. For an always-on ignition-off load in a body controller, that current is low enough to stay within the module's sleep budget without a dedicated low-power comparator.
Open-collector output — wired-OR and level-shift capability
The open-collector output sinks current to ground when the non-inverting input is above the inverting input. Pull the output up to any voltage within the 36 V ceiling — the comparator's output transistor blocks reverse current, so multiple outputs can be wired-OR'd to a common interrupt or fault line.
