Product details

The STMicroelectronics ESDA6V1SC6Y is a four-channel unidirectional Zener TVS diode array from the ESDAY/TRANSIL™ family, designed to clamp transients on signal and low-voltage power lines. Its 400W peak pulse power rating (8/20µs waveform) handles the energy from ESD strikes, load-dump spikes, and inductive kickback without letting the protected circuitry see more than 19V across the junction. With a 5.2V reverse standoff and 6.1V minimum breakdown, it sits comfortably on 3.3V and 5V rails, triggering only when the line voltage exceeds the normal operating range.

Automotive-grade protection for harsh environments

The SOT-23-6 package is small enough for space-constrained ECU boards, and its surface-mount footprint reflows cleanly with standard lead-free profiles — no special handling beyond the usual MSL precautions.

Clamping performance and channel count

Four independent unidirectional channels let you protect multiple I/O lines — CAN bus, LIN bus, sensor inputs, or switch contacts — with a single component. The 19V maximum clamping at 18A (8/20µs) keeps the protected node well within the absolute-maximum ratings of most 5V-tolerant logic and transceivers. Power line protection is not built in, so this part is best used on signal lines rather than main power rails.
