5 ns reverse recovery — what it buys you
A Schottky's 5 ns trr is effectively instantaneous for most switching frequencies below a few megahertz. In a boost or flyback converter, that means negligible reverse-recovery loss in the rectifier stage — the scorch mark that kills a slow silicon diode at 100 kHz won't show up here. For signal-level clamping or OR-ing, the 5 ns recovery keeps the waveform clean through fast edges.
Series pair — why two diodes in one package
The two Schottky diodes are connected anode-to-cathode in series inside a single SOT-23. That saves board space and cuts pick-and-place cost compared to two separate SOD-123 or SOD-323 parts. Typical uses: a center-tapped winding in a push-pull converter, a voltage-clamp network where the series pair handles bidirectional blocking, or a current-steering OR-ing circuit.
Leakage and forward drop at temperature
Reverse leakage is specified at 1 µA max at 30 V, typical for a 40 V Schottky. Forward drop hits 900 mV maximum at 100 mA — higher than a low-Vf Schottky but acceptable for the current range. At 150°C junction, leakage will multiply (Schottky physics), so budget extra margin if the diode sits near a hot regulator or power stage.
