Small-signal Schottky for low-voltage switching
The STMicroelectronics BAT46 is a small-signal Schottky diode rated for 100 V reverse voltage and 150 mA average rectified current — a common choice for low-current rectification, clamping, and polarity protection in through-hole designs. Its forward voltage is 450 mV maximum at 10 mA, keeping conduction loss low in signal-level circuits, while reverse leakage is 5 µA at 75 V.
Through-hole DO-35 — rework-friendly, but plan the assembly
The BAT46 comes in a DO-204AH (DO-35) axial-lead package, which is straightforward to hand-solder or wave-solder but requires through-hole board real estate. The cathode band is clearly marked on the body; orientation is unambiguous, which helps during manual rework and inspection.
