The STMicroelectronics BAS70-05FILM is a Schottky diode array in a SOT-23-3 package, rated for 70 V reverse voltage and 70 mA average rectified current per diode. The 70 V reverse rating and low forward voltage of 1 V at 15 mA make it suited for high-speed switching and clamping in low-power signal paths.
Common-cathode configuration and circuit fit
The two diodes share a common cathode (pin 3 on the SOT-23-3), with independent anodes on pins 1 and 2 — a configuration used for dual Schottky clamp networks, OR-ing, or steering logic where the cathodes tie to a single rail. Reverse leakage is 10 µA at 70 V, which sets the standing loss in a clamping application; the 150°C max junction temperature gives headroom in warm enclosures.
Package and rework considerations
SOT-23-3 is a three-lead package with a 0.95 mm pitch — the pads are small enough that a hot-air station with a fine nozzle lifts the part cleanly without cooking the board, provided the adjacent components are masked. The tape-and-reel or cut-tape supply suits both automated pick-and-place and bench rework; the package has no exposed pad, so the thermal path is through the leads only.
