800 V / 10 A AC switch for resistive and inductive loads
The ST ACST1035-8FP is a standard triac rated at 800 V and 10 A, housed in a TO-220FPAB full-pack package. This through-hole device switches AC loads directly — heaters, motors, lighting ballasts, solenoid valves — where a single triac replaces a relay or contactor. The full-pack isolation means the metal tab is electrically isolated from the die, so you can bolt it to a heatsink without an insulating pad, saving assembly time and improving thermal transfer. Junction temperature spans -40°C to 150°C.
Standard gate — expect higher gate current than logic-level triacs
This is a standard triac, not a logic-level or sensitive-gate type.
Active production — no LTB risk
The ACST1035-8FP is listed as Active and ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window is in effect. It can be specified into new designs without obsolescence planning. The TO-220FPAB package is a standard ST footprint, so second-sourcing with a functionally similar triac in the same package is straightforward if supply tightens.
TO-220FPAB — isolated tab, no mica washer needed
The full-pack TO-220-3 has the mounting hole and tab fully encapsulated. No insulating bushings or mica washers are required when bolting to a chassis or heatsink.
