70V Schottky for RF detector and mixer front-ends
The 1N5711 is a small-signal Schottky diode built for RF detector, mixer, and clamping applications where low junction capacitance and fast switching matter more than current handling. Its 70V peak reverse voltage and 2pF capacitance at 0V bias make it a common choice for RF probe tips, power detectors, and microwave mixer stages through X-band.
2pF capacitance – the RF enabler
The 2pF capacitance at 0V, 1MHz sets the upper frequency limit for detection and mixing. The 15 mA max current confirms this is a signal diode, not a power rectifier.
DO-35 axial – through-hole legacy
The DO-204AH (DO-35) axial-lead glass package is a through-hole format that predates surface-mount assembly. The axial leads require hand-insertion or selective-solder processes; no pick-and-place tape-and-reel option exists for the DO-35 body.
