35 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity — why it matters for motor drives and inverters
A minimum 35 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) means the isolator holds its output state when a fast voltage transient slams across the barrier. In a motor-drive or inverter circuit, the IGBT switching edges generate common-mode dv/dt well above 10 kV/µs — this part has headroom to avoid data corruption or latch-up.
Drop-in compatibility with the SI8660BD-B-IS
The SI8660BD-B-IS shares the same 16-SOIC wide-body package, 150 Mbps data rate, 6/0 channel configuration, 5000 Vrms isolation, and 35 kV/µs CMTI. The two parts are functionally identical — the suffix difference (ED vs BD) reflects a manufacturing or test-code variant, not a parametric change. A board laid out for one accepts the other without a layout spin.
