I²C isolation with 2500Vrms and 35kV/µs CMTI
The Skyworks SI8605AB-B-IS1 is a 4-channel I²C digital isolator using capacitive coupling, rated for 2500Vrms isolation. That 2500Vrms covers basic insulation for industrial bus nodes, motor drives, and medical patient-coupled circuits where the I²C bus must cross a galvanic barrier without corrupting the clock or data. Common-mode transient immunity of 35kV/µs minimum means the isolator holds the data path clean when a motor drive or inverter switches — the output won't glitch from the fast voltage slew across the isolation barrier. The 3/3 input configuration per side maps directly to bidirectional SDA and SCL lines plus a separate output-enable pin for bus arbitration. Supply voltage spans 3V to 5.5V, so it mates directly with both 3.3V and 5V I²C buses without a level translator on the isolator side. The -40°C to 125°C operating range covers the full industrial temperature envelope — no derating needed for hot enclosures or cold starts.
