150 V, 40 A common-cathode Schottky pair
The RB238NS150TL is a 150 V, 40 A Schottky diode pair in a common-cathode configuration, housed in a TO-263S (D²Pak) surface-mount package. It is intended for high-efficiency rectification in switching power supplies and DC-DC converters where low forward voltage drop and fast recovery are required. With a forward voltage of 870 mV at 20 A, the conduction loss per diode stays manageable at high load, and the 30 µA reverse leakage at 150 V confirms the low-leakage Schottky design — a balance that suits continuous conduction mode (CCM) and OR-ing applications.
Switching speed and thermal fit
Rated as fast recovery (≤ 500 ns at > 200 mA), the RB238NS150TL handles hard-switching topologies without significant reverse-recovery losses — a key advantage over standard rectifiers in flyback or forward converters operating above 50 kHz. The junction temperature limit is 150 °C, and the TO-263S (D²Pak) package provides a low thermal resistance path through the exposed tab to the PCB copper plane. Adequate heatsinking on the cathode tab is essential to stay within the SOA at the full 40 A per diode.
It is ROHS3 compliant and carries the ROHM Semiconductor brand.
