Single-gate Schmitt trigger inverter — wide supply, low idle draw
The BU4S584G2-TR is a single-channel inverter with Schmitt trigger input from ROHM's 4S series, housed in a 5-pin SOT-753 (SC-74A) package. It operates across a 3 V to 16 V supply range, making it suitable for mixed-voltage logic interfaces and noise-prone environments where the Schmitt hysteresis cleans up slow or noisy edges.
Supply range and threshold logic
The wide supply voltage — 3 V to 16 V — lets this gate bridge between 3.3 V and 12 V logic domains without an external level shifter. The Schmitt trigger input defines low-level thresholds from 1.5 V to 4 V and high-level thresholds from 3.5 V to 11 V, depending on the supply rail, providing built-in noise immunity for slow-rising sensor signals or long PCB traces. Quiescent current is a maximum of 1 µA, so the gate adds negligible static load in battery-powered or always-on monitoring circuits. Output drive capability is 3.4 mA for both source and sink, enough to drive a standard CMOS logic input or a small LED indicator. The single-gate SOT-753 footprint saves board space when only one inverter channel is needed, avoiding wasted gates in a quad package.
