0.0625°C/LSB local digital temperature sensor for board-level thermal monitoring
The BH1900NUX-TR is a digital local temperature sensor from ROHM Semiconductor that measures the die temperature of its own package with a resolution of 0.0625°C per LSB. It communicates over a standard 2-wire I²C serial interface, making it straightforward to integrate into existing bus architectures on a PCB. The sensor's local sensing range is specified from -20°C to 85°C, with an operating temperature envelope of -30°C to 90°C for the device itself. The highest accuracy is ±3°C across the test condition of -20°C to 85°C, which is typical for a general-purpose board-level temperature monitor where absolute precision is secondary to trend detection and over-temperature thresholds.
VSON008X2030 package and supply integration
Housed in an 8-UFDFN exposed pad package (supplier device package VSON008X2030), the BH1900NUX-TR is a surface-mount component. The exposed pad underneath the package must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB to achieve the rated thermal performance — this is not optional for reliable operation near the upper temperature limit. The I²C interface operates at the same supply voltage; pull-up resistors to the supply rail are required on the SDA and SCL lines, with values chosen per the bus capacitance and desired speed.
