AEC-Q100 grade and temperature range
The BD750L5FP-CE2: Qualified to AEC-Q100, the automotive IC reliability standard — the part is built and tested for the thermal and electrical stress profile of automotive applications, not an industrial part sold as 'automotive-capable'.
Input voltage and output capability
Maximum input voltage is 45 V, giving headroom above the 24 V nominal in heavy trucks and covering load-dump transients up to 40 V without an external clamp. Output is fixed at 5 V with 500 mA continuous current — enough to power a CAN transceiver, a small MCU, or a sensor bias rail in an ECU. Dropout voltage is 0.5 V maximum at 200 mA load; the input-to-output differential must stay above this to maintain regulation.
Quiescent current and PSRR for noise-sensitive rails
Quiescent current is 6 µA typical, keeping the regulator's own draw low for always-on modules in battery-backed ECUs. Power supply rejection ratio is 60 dB at 120 Hz — typical for a linear regulator; it attenuates 120 Hz ripple from a full-wave rectifier by 1000×, but at higher frequencies the rejection rolls off, so switching noise upstream should be filtered ahead of the LDO.
Protection and package
Over-current and over-temperature protection are built in — the part shuts down on a hard short or thermal runaway, reducing the risk of a cascading failure on the board.
ROHS3 compliant — no restricted substances in the bill of materials; PPAP documentation and AEC-Q qualification reports are available from the manufacturer.
