The BD63150AFM-E2: The BD63150AFM- is a single-channel H-bridge motor driver built with DMOS output transistors, rated for a continuous output current of 5 A from an 8 V to 46.2 V supply rail. It integrates both half-bridge pre-drivers on-chip, so the external BOM stays tight — no separate gate-driver IC needed for the two half-bridge outputs that form the H-bridge.
What the 5 A rating means for a printer or small actuator
The 5 A continuous rating is the DC current the DMOS outputs can sustain under normal operation — real-world motor startup or stall current may spike higher, but the part's thermal capacity in the 36-HSOP-M with exposed heat tabs determines how long those peaks can last before the die hits the 85 °C ambient ceiling. The 8 V to 46.2 V supply range covers common 12 V and 24 V industrial printer rails, and the 46.2 V ceiling gives headroom for 36 V nominal supplies that ring on long cable runs. The On/Off interface means this is a simple PWM-input driver — no SPI or parallel bus for microstepping; the PWM duty cycle and frequency come from the host controller's timer output.
