Brushed DC motor driver with integrated power stage
The BD62220AEFV-E2: The BD62220AEFV- is a fully integrated brushed DC motor driver from ROHM Semiconductor, combining control logic and a DMOS power stage in one package. It drives a single brushed DC motor with a continuous output current of 2.83 A from an 8 V to 28 V supply rail, making it a direct fit for printer paper-feed and carriage motors that need bidirectional speed control. The PWM interface accepts a logic-level pulse train to set motor speed and direction, while the dual half-bridge output configuration (two half-bridges) allows forward, reverse, and brake states without external H-bridge components.
Package and thermal interface
Housed in a 28-VSSOP (0.173", 4.40 mm width) with an exposed pad, the part is also listed under supplier device package 28-HTSSOP-B. Surface-mount assembly with a 0.65 mm pitch — standard reflow profile for lead-free solder applies. The tape-and-reel packaging (TR) suits volume pick-and-place; cut-tape (CT) is also available for prototype or low-volume builds.
Active production and compliance
Operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C ambient — suitable for indoor office equipment and industrial peripherals, but not rated for under-hood automotive or extended outdoor exposure. The DMOS output stage is rated for the full 2.83 A continuous at 85°C with adequate board-level heatsinking.
