1.8 V rail for automotive electronics
The ROHM BD18IC0MEFJ-ME2 is a single-output, fixed 1.8 V linear regulator rated for 1 A continuous output, built on the Automotive, AEC-Q100 process line. It targets on-board power conditioning for automotive ECUs, ADAS sensor modules, and infotainment head units that need a clean 1.8 V rail from a pre-regulated 3.3 V or 5 V bus. The 0.9 V maximum dropout at 1 A means the input rail can dip to 2.7 V before the output falls out of regulation — a useful margin for cranking or load-dump transients on a 3.3 V intermediate rail.
Dropout and quiescent — sizing the supply budget
At 1 A load the dropout ceiling is 0.9 V; the actual dropout at lower current will be lower, but the design should budget the full 0.9 V headroom plus the input ripple margin.
Thermal path through the exposed pad
The 8-HTSOP-J package (8-SOIC with exposed pad, 3.90 mm body width) routes the main heat path through the pad on the underside. Without that via stack, the package's RthJA rises and the output current must be derated above about 85°C ambient.
