Fixed 12V rail, 2A — dropout and headroom
The ROHM BAJ2DD0T is a single-output positive linear regulator delivering a fixed 12V at up to 2A. Quiescent current is 120 µA typical, which keeps the regulator's own draw low in always-on applications where the 2A output is only occasionally needed.
Industrial temperature and protection suite
Built-in protection includes over-current, over-temperature, and over-voltage — the regulator survives a sustained short on the output or a thermal runaway condition without external crowbar circuitry. The over-voltage clamp protects downstream loads from input transients up to the 25V abs-max input.
TO-220FP package — isolated tab, no extra insulator
The TO-220 Full Pack (TO-220FP) is a fully molded through-hole package with an isolated metal tab. The tab is electrically isolated from the die, so the regulator can be bolted directly to a heatsink or chassis without a mica insulator or thermal pad — saves assembly time and avoids a potential ground-loop path. Supplier device package designation is TO-220FP; the three leads are standard 0.100-inch pitch, compatible with common TO-220 footprints on a PCB or terminal block.
PSRR and ripple rejection at line frequency
Power supply rejection ratio is 55 dB at 120 Hz — that is the full-wave rectified line frequency (60 Hz × 2). A 55 dB rejection means input ripple of 1 Vpp is attenuated to about 1.8 mVpp on the output. For a 12V rail feeding analog circuitry (op-amps, ADCs), this keeps mains hum out of the signal path without a post-filter.
