High-speed optocoupler with 5000Vrms isolation for industrial interfaces
The Renesas RV1S9061ACCSP-10YC#KC0 is a single-channel, high-speed optocoupler rated for 15Mbps data rates and 5000Vrms isolation. Its push-pull, totem-pole output eliminates the external pull-up resistor, saving board space and BOM cost. The wide supply range from 4.5V to 30V lets it run directly off 5V, 12V, or 24V industrial buses without an intermediate regulator. With a common-mode transient immunity of 100kV/µs minimum, it holds its output state through the fast voltage transients found in motor drives and inverter stages.
At 15Mbps, this optocoupler comfortably handles Profibus DP (12Mbps), CAN FD (up to 8Mbps), and most industrial Ethernet physical layers that use isolated logic interfaces. The 60ns max propagation delay in both directions keeps timing margins tight but workable for 15Mbps clocked buses. The 100kV/µs CMTI rating is the real differentiator: in a 3-phase motor drive with 600V DC bus, the switching edges can couple several kV/µs across the isolation barrier. A part with lower CMTI would glitch the output, corrupting the gate-drive or encoder feedback signal. This one holds clean.
Wide supply and push-pull output simplify the rail design
The output side operates from 4.5V to 30V, so it can interface directly with a 24V PLC input module or a 5V microcontroller without level shifting. The input LED forward voltage is 1.55V typical, and the maximum forward current is 25mA — a 330Ω series resistor from a 5V logic output gives about 10mA, well within the safe operating region.
Industrial temperature range and surface-mount package
The surface-mount 5-LSOP package reflows with standard lead-free profiles; store the reels dry — MSL sensitivity is typical for wide-body SOIC optocouplers.
