What the RL78/G23 brings to the board
The Renesas R7F100GPG3CFB#BA0 is a 16-bit RL78/G23 microcontroller with a 32 MHz core, 128 KB Flash, 16 KB RAM, and 8 KB EEPROM on a 100-LQFP package. It runs from 1.8 V to 5.5 V and is rated for -40 °C to 105 °C — solidly in the industrial temperature band. The part integrates capacitive touch sensing, LVD, POR, PWM, and a WDT, plus a rich set of serial interfaces: CSI, I²C, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART. With 88 I/O lines and internal oscillators, it can handle a multi-sensor control panel or a motor-drive interface without external clock or level-shift components.
Analog front-end density
The on-chip data converters include a 20-channel 10-bit ADC, an 8-channel 12-bit ADC, and a 2-channel 8-bit DAC.
Memory mix: Flash, RAM, and EEPROM on one die
The 128 KB Flash holds the firmware; the 16 KB RAM handles stack and data buffers. The separate 8 KB EEPROM block is useful for calibration constants, configuration parameters, or fault logs that must survive a power cycle — no external EEPROM needed.
Sourcing and lifecycle
Renesas lists the R7F100GPG3CFB#BA0 as Active and ROHS3 compliant.
