16-bit RL78 core with segment LCD drive
The Renesas R5F10WLAGFB#10 is a 16-bit RL78/L13 microcontroller with the RL78 core running at 24 MHz. It has 16 KB of Flash program memory, 1K x 8 of RAM, and 4K x 8 of data EEPROM.
On-chip LCD driver and peripheral set
What sets this MCU apart in the RL78 family is the integrated LCD controller — it can drive a segment LCD panel directly, saving a separate display driver IC and the board area that goes with it. For connectivity there are CSI (clocked serial), I²C, LINbus, and UART/USART interfaces, giving you the flexibility to talk to sensors, actuators, and a LIN bus in an automotive or industrial sub-network.
The supply voltage spans 1.6 V to 5.5 V, which means this part can run from a single Li-ion cell down to near-depletion or from a regulated 5 V rail. The 42 I/O lines are available in the 64-LQFP, so you have enough pins for a parallel LCD interface plus a keypad matrix and a few sensor inputs.
