What this RL78/G13 brings to a 20-pin board
The Renesas R5F1006AASM#50 is a 16-bit RL78/G13 microcontroller in a 20-TSSOP package, built for cost-sensitive control applications where every pin and milliwatt counts. It runs at 32 MHz from an internal oscillator, with 16 KB of Flash program memory, 2 KB of RAM, and 4 KB of data EEPROM — enough to hold a modest firmware image plus calibration constants without an external serial EEPROM.
13 I/O and the peripherals that matter
Thirteen general-purpose I/O pins in a 20-pin TSSOP — that is a tight but workable count for a sensor node, a fan controller, or a simple human-machine interface. The peripheral set includes DMA, a low-voltage detector (LVD), power-on reset (POR), PWM timers, and a watchdog timer (WDT). The 6-channel A/D converter resolves to 8 or 10 bits, which is adequate for reading potentiometers, thermistors, or current-sense resistors in a control loop.
Active production — no end-of-life clock ticking
The part is ROHS3 compliant, which keeps it eligible for European and California-market assemblies without an exemption review.
Sourcing posture for this order code
This is a standard active MCU, not a shortage or allocation item. If you are filling a BOM line for a production run or a prototype batch, send the RFQ and we will come back with a firm offer and a delivery window.
