Darlington output saves the LED drive budget
The Renesas PS2933-1-V-F3-AX is a single-channel Darlington-output optocoupler from the NEPOC series, housed in a 4-SMD flat-lead package (4-Mini-Flat). Its headline feature is the current transfer ratio: 400% minimum, 4500% maximum, both specified at a forward current of 1 mA. That means a 1 mA LED current can switch a 60 mA output load — the Darlington gain lets you drive the input directly from a GPIO without a transistor buffer, which simplifies the BOM on industrial I/O cards and PLC modules.
2500Vrms isolation — where it fits
With 2500Vrms of galvanic isolation, this part is sized for reinforced insulation in mains-connected equipment: switch-mode power supply feedback loops, motor-drive interface circuits, and industrial sensor isolation. The output side can handle up to 350V and 60 mA continuously, so it can switch a 24V PLC input or a 240V AC relay coil through an external transistor. Rise and fall times are 20 µs and 5 µs respectively — fast enough for 10 kHz switching but not for high-speed data; this is a level-shifter and isolator, not a digital coupler.
Temperature range: -55°C to 100°C
The Darlington output's Vce saturation is 1V max, which is higher than a transistor-output opto — budget that drop when calculating the load voltage margin at cold start.
