The Renesas NEPOC PS2533-1-A is a single-channel, DC-input Darlington-output optocoupler in a 4-DIP through-hole package. It provides 5000Vrms of galvanic isolation between a low-voltage control side and a high-voltage load side, with a Darlington output stage that delivers a current transfer ratio (CTR) ranging from 1500% to 6500% at a forward current of 1mA. This high CTR means the input LED can be driven with very low current while still saturating the output transistor, making it suitable for interfaces where the control signal is weak or power-constrained. The output can switch up to 350V and 150mA, enough to drive relays, solenoids, or small motors directly without an external driver transistor. The -55°C to 100°C operating temperature range covers industrial control panels, HVAC systems, and power-supply feedback loops where wide ambient swings are expected.
The 5000Vrms isolation voltage qualifies the part for reinforced insulation in mains-connected equipment. The 1500% to 6500% CTR range at 1mA is due to the Darlington configuration.
