CMOS 555 timer with 60 µA supply current
The ICM7555CBAZ-T is a CMOS version of the classic 555 timer from Renesas, dropping the supply current to 60 µA typical — a fraction of what a standard bipolar 555 draws. That 60 µA figure is the headline spec for any design where the timer runs continuously and the system battery life matters. It operates from 2V to 18V, so the same part can sit on a 3.3V MCU rail or a 12V industrial supply without a separate regulator. The 1MHz maximum frequency covers most PWM, delay, and oscillator needs below the RF band.
Pin-compatible drop-in for 8-SOIC footprints
The ICM7555CBAZ-T uses the standard 555 pinout in an 8-SOIC package (0.154" width, 3.90mm body). A board laid out for an NE555 or LMC555 in the same SOIC footprint will accept this part without a layout spin. The CMOS construction eliminates the bipolar 555's shoot-through current spike during output transitions, which reduces supply noise and lets the output swing rail-to-rail. For a precision timing application, the lower supply sensitivity means the period drifts less with supply ripple.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant, tape-and-reel ready
Renesas lists the ICM7555CBAZ-T as Active, so there is no near-term obsolescence risk for a production BOM. The 8-SOIC package is a common footprint with wide second-source availability if a supply constraint ever appears.
