What this N-channel load switch does on your board
The ABU HAF2026RJ-EL-E is a single-output N-channel general-purpose load switch in an 8-SOIC package. It switches a load voltage from 3.5 V to 12 V, delivering up to 600 mA, with a typical on-resistance of 200 mOhm. This is a simple On/Off interface part: no Vcc supply pin needed, just a logic-level gate signal. The non-inverting input means a high turns the switch on, low turns it off — no inversion to confuse the firmware. Built-in fault protection includes fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, so a dead-short on the output won't cascade into a board fire. The 150 °C operating temperature rating gives headroom in warm enclosures.
200 mOhm Rds(on) — what it costs you in voltage drop
At the full 600 mA output, the 200 mOhm typical Rds(on) drops about 120 mV across the switch. That's 72 mW of dissipation — well within the SOIC-8's thermal capability without a heatsink, but it does eat into the load's voltage budget. If your downstream circuit needs every millivolt of a 5 V rail, factor that drop in. The load voltage range is 3.5 V to 12 V, covering 5 V and 12 V common rails. It won't switch a 3.3 V bus — the floor is 3.5 V, so a 3.3 V rail sits below the minimum.
Package and field-service reality
