2:4 fanout at 1.2 GHz — signal-path fit
The 8P34S1204NLGI is a 2:4 fanout buffer and multiplexer from Renesas, rated for clock distribution up to 1.2 GHz. It accepts CML or LVDS differential inputs and delivers LVDS differential outputs, with the full signal path being differential throughout. That 1.2 GHz ceiling covers most high-speed serial link clocks (PCIe Gen3/4 reference, 10GbE, Fibre Channel) without margin pressure. The 2:4 ratio lets a single input fan out to four destinations, or two inputs can be multiplexed onto four outputs — useful when switching between a primary and redundant clock source without an external mux.
Supply rails and temperature grade
The device operates from two supply ranges: 1.71 V to 1.89 V (nominally 1.8 V) and 2.1 V to 2.7 V (nominally 2.5 V). The dual-rail architecture keeps core and output stages on separate planes, reducing noise coupling into the LVDS outputs. No AEC-Q grade is listed, so it is not qualified for automotive deployment. Packaged in a 16-lead VFQFPN measuring 3 mm × 3 mm with an exposed pad for thermal dissipation.
