Octal bus transceiver, 5 V supply, 20-SOIC
The 74FCT245ATSOG is an 8-bit non-inverting transceiver from the 74FCT series, with 3-state outputs on both the A and B ports.
Output drive and signal integrity
Output drive is specified at 15 mA source and 64 mA sink per channel — the asymmetric sink capability handles the heavier capacitive load of a shared bus or backplane trace without external buffers. The 3-state outputs allow multiple transceivers to share the same data lines in a multiplexed bus architecture; the output-enable control disconnects the driver when the bus is assigned to another node.
Package and board integration
Surface-mount in a 20-SOIC (0.295", 7.50 mm width) — the 1.27 mm pitch matches standard SOIC land patterns, and the body width requires a 7.5 mm pad row spacing on the PCB. The tube packaging is typical for prototyping and low-volume production runs. Supplier device package is 20-SOIC; the same footprint is shared across the 74FCT family, so a board layout for one octal transceiver accepts others in the series without a respin.
It is ROHS3 compliant, meeting the current EU restriction on hazardous substances.
