What this part does — 16-bit bus translator for mixed-voltage boards
Outputs are tri-state and non-inverted, with bidirectional data flow on each channel. That means you can connect it directly to a shared data bus without external direction control — the direction pin on each circuit sets the flow, and the tri-state lets you float the outputs when the bus is idle or when another master drives it.
Supply rails — the voltage split that makes it work
VCCA runs from 2.7 V to 3.6 V. VCCB runs 4.5 V to 5.5 V. The two supplies are independent but must be powered in the correct sequence per the datasheet guidelines.
Sourcing posture — active part, quoted to order
Renesas lists the 74FCT164245TPAG8 as Active. The ROHS3 compliance covers EU and most global assembly requirements without exemption paperwork.
