Timekeeping current and supply flexibility
The 1337AGDVGI: This RTC draws just 0.3 µA max during timekeeping at 1.3 V to 1.8 V — low enough that a coin cell or supercap backup runs the calendar for years without a recharge cycle.
I²C interface and feature set
Communication is over a standard I²C 2-wire serial bus — two pins (SCL, SDA) handle all register access, leaving the remaining GPIO free for other functions. On-chip features include an alarm comparator, leap-year correction through 2099, and a square-wave output that can drive a microcontroller interrupt or blink an LED without external timing.
It comes in an 8-TSSOP package (3.00 mm body width) — the same footprint as the 8-MSOP alternative listed in the package spec, so a single PCB layout covers both if supply tightens.
RoHS compliance and sourcing
Renesas lists the 1337AGDVGI as ROHS3 Compliant — fully lead-free and exempt-free for EU and UKCA markets. The part ships in tube packaging; tape-and-reel variants exist in the same family (e.g., 1339-31DVGI8) but this order code is tube only.
