Bidirectional TVS protection at 43V standoff
The 1.5SMCJ43CA-AU_R1_000A1 is a bidirectional Zener-based TVS (transient voltage suppressor) in the SMC (DO-214AB) package, qualified to AEC-Q101 for automotive environments. Reverse standoff of 43 V sets the working voltage at which the device presents high impedance — it sits across the line and does nothing until a transient arrives.
The 1500 W peak pulse rating defines the surge energy budget the device can absorb without degradation — the 69.4 V clamping voltage at 21.6 A is the operating point at that rated surge level. For shorter-duration transients the clamping voltage stays lower; a slower or higher-energy surge pushes the clamping closer to that ceiling.
