Transient protection — clamping and breakdown
The 1.5SMC51A_R1_00001: The 48.5 V minimum breakdown voltage and 43.6 V reverse standoff mean the diode stays transparent on a 36–42 V DC rail and only conducts when the line exceeds the trigger threshold. Unidirectional channel — use on a DC bus where the normal polarity is fixed; reverse-bias events are not clamped by this part.
