1500 W bidirectional TVS — 36.8 V standoff, 59.3 V clamp
The 1.5SMC43CA_R1_00001: This is a general-purpose transient suppressor for surface-mount boards — the DO-214AB (SMC) package handles the 1.5 kW pulse without cracking the epoxy, and the bidirectional structure lets it clamp positive and negative transients with a single device across the rail.
Clamping voltage and pulse current — what they mean for the rail
If the protected DC bus is 36.8 V nominal, the TVS holds the transient 22.5 V above the rail — a downstream capacitor rated at 63 V or higher keeps margin. For shorter transients (8/20 µs), the device can absorb significantly more peak current before the junction temperature hits 150 °C.
Active lifecycle — sourcing through distribution
The bidirectional channel count is 1 — a single device protects one rail against both polarities.
