Automotive-grade TVS for 24V rail clamping
The Panjit 1.5SMC24A-AU_R1_000A1 is a Zener-type transient voltage suppressor from the 1.5SMC-AU series, qualified to AEC-Q101 for automotive applications.
The 33.2 V clamping voltage at 45 A is the peak voltage the downstream circuitry sees during a surge; a 24 V-rated IC with a 36 V abs-max will survive this clamp. AEC-Q101 qualification means the part has passed the full automotive reliability stress suite: temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and ESD sensitivity. It is suitable for safety- or mission-critical ECUs where the supplier must show PPAP documentation. The 1.5SMC24A-AU is a unidirectional device (single channel), so it clamps only one polarity. For AC or bidirectional protection, a pair back-to-back or a dedicated bidirectional TVS is needed.
